Site Security Assessments

The Rose Guard Advantage

Looking at a door lock through a magnifying glass.

One of the main reasons that we incorporated Rose Guard as a national non-profit 501(c)(3) is so that we could focus on providing top-tier security services to clients that are unable to afford their own in-house security teams.

With our specialties that include physical, technical, and cyber security, we are able to provide full-scope security consulting to those that are most heavily targeted by bad actors and who often have the most to lose.

In addition to our educational mission, Rose Guard conducts site security assessments at at-risk facilities for our target clientele.  These assessments cover the full scope of our security expertise and are tailored to suit the client’s needs.

Some of our site security assessments focuses include:

  • Locking hardware (e.g., key control, lock recommendations)
  • High security doors
  • Security windows and window films
  • Access control systems
  • Camera coverage and video storage
  • Intrusion detection systems (i.e., alarm systems)
  • IT system configuration best practices
  • IT system security update policies and procedures
  • Data storage policies for personal/medical information
    and much more.

All of our assessments are built upon decades of experience handling physical, technical, and cyber security programs for the United States Government.  We take the best practices of the most current Intelligence Community Directives and Standards (ICD/ICS), Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), and Committee on National Security Systems publications… just to name a few.

We use our expertise with these top-tier standards and we distill it down to what matters most to you.  We provide you with this level of expertise because no one should be without top level security assistance in this day and age.

At the end of every site security assessment, Rose Guard will provide our clients with a report that details all of our findings as well as a host of recommendations.  These recommendations will be, to the best of our ability, rank ordered by a cost/benefit ratio that will help our clients focus on where they can direct their limited resources in order to obtain the most impact to their security posture.  All of our assessments are kept entirely confidential, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Promise of Confidentiality.

Some examples of individuals or organizations that can benefit from our assessment program include:

  • Pre-schools wanting to ensure the safety of the children,
  • Churches with a desire to protect their congregations and visitors,
  • Small or self-employed businesses that need to ensure facility security and/or client confidentiality,
  • Remote workers that need to certify their home office as being secure in order to maintain their employment.

What Does it Cost?

The cost of a site assessment is $0.

Our Rose Guardians are volunteers that take no money in return for their services but are repaid any travel expenses necessary to conduct their work.   When determining travel reimbursements, Rose Guard uses double the rates published by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for vehicle mileage and travel per diem.

We are able to charge nothing for these site security assessments because of the generosity of our donors and our partners that believe so strongly in our mission.  If a client is able to donate a small portion of funds to our cause, it will always be greatly appreciated, but any such donations are not a condition of nor considered as a payment for our services.  Any such donations are separate from any specific services that we provide to any individual or organization thus ensuring the full tax deductibility of these donations.

How Long Does an Assessment Take?

Every site security assessment will differ and depend upon the size of the facility and the scope of work requested.  In general, we make every effort to complete the on-site portion of an assessment within a two/three-day period, provided that access to the facility is obtainable, the personnel working there are responsive to our questions, and access to any IT systems can be arranged.

In addition to the on-site portion of the assessment, some of the work will occur prior to a Rose Guardian being on-site, through e-mails, questionnaires, and on-line research.  The entire process from acceptance of a request to the final report can take anywhere from 2-10 weeks on average.

Please note that our personnel are volunteers and have limited hours to provide to Rose Guard.  Additionally, depending upon our current financial status, we may have to prioritize local assessments over ones that require travel, due to the costs of reimbursing our personnel for travel expenses.

How Do I Arrange an Assessment?

Please contact Rose Guard to discuss your specific needs.

Our site assessments are our most time-intensive service and as our Rose Guardians work part-time on a volunteer basis, we cannot guarantee that we can address every request but we will always endeavor to do so.
